It has since piloted a method of assessing glaciers in the region using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The studies indicate that the Himalayan glaciers have been shrinking overall at 0.4-0.5% per year since the 1950s. We are also pressing for an end to the removal of medical equipment from convoys by the regime, the evacuation of critical medical cases and regular access to healthcare for besieged populations.</p><p>Since the passing of the ISSG’s 1<sup>st</sup> June deadline, there has been some progress, including regime approval in principle for land access to all of the areas requested in the UN’s access plan for June. The Syrian regime must now deliver on its commitment to allow land access to all besieged areas.</p><p>The international community will be watching progress closely. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/05/2016 answer text <p>The UK provides substantial funding to international NGOs and UN agencies, enabling them to respond to disasters around the world, including Sri Lanka. This includes the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) , which was established by the UN and other leading donors to enable rapid emergency response. The CERF is doing an assessment of the situation following the rainfall and landslips in Sri Lanka. The UK, along with other leading donors, will provide support as required through this coordinated response mechanism.</p><p>The UK is the biggest contributor to the CERF, having provided in excess of $855m in the last 10 years. This area includes Tibet, India and Nepal. We welcome the agreement of the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) on a global indicator framework for the Sustainable Development Goals, which includes clear levels of disaggregation by age for relevant indicators, ensuring that countries are able to plan and monitor the impact for elderly people in order to leave no one behind.</p><p>We are supporting various programmes to strengthen the capacity of national statistical systems to produce the data that is needed. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/03/2016 answer text <p>At the &quot;Supporting Syria and the Region London 2016&quot; Conference on 4 February more than US$11 billion was pledged to support people in Syria and the region affected by the conflict. This is the largest amount raised in one day for a humanitarian crisis. The UK remains at the forefront of the response to the crisis in Syria and the region. We have doubled our commitment and have now pledged a total more than £2.3 billion, our largest ever response to a single humanitarian crisis.</p><p>The international community pledged $5.9 billion for 2016 and a further $5.4 billion has been committed for 2017-20 to enable partners to plan ahead. Germany and the UK made the largest bilateral funding announcements at the London Conference - both for 2016 and outer years - followed by Norway, the United States and Japan.
