answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/07/2014 answer text <p>The UK Government is at the forefront of work to promote human rights around the world, and regularly criticises Governments which violates those rights. This includes working to end religious intolerance and persecution and we strongly condemn any alleged persecution and will continue to uphold the rights of citizens, regardless of faith, ethnicity or belief.</p><p>We only provide aid directly to governments where we are satisfied that they share our commitments to reduce poverty and respect human rights. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/07/2014 answer text <p>UK aid to Nigeria is delivered through civil society organisations, technical assistance and UN agencies. DFID does not finance the Government of Nigeria directly. As most UKAID programmes are national in scope, it is not possible to provide regional breakdowns, however since 2011 at least 60% of our funds are focussed on Northern Nigeria.
