star this property answer text <p><strong>Brazil </strong></p><p>The United Kingdom values Brazil as an important trading partner. Brazil is part of the Mercosur trade bloc, alongside Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. We will continue to work together to develop our trade relationship and consider options for future agreements.</p><p><strong>Mexico, Canada, Japan and Turkey</strong></p><p><strong> </strong>The United Kingdom’s ambition is to sign continuity trade agreements with Mexico, Canada, Japan and Turkey by the end of the transition period, which would make sure that existing trade flows are protected. If we do not reproduce the effects of an existing EU agreement, trade with these partners would take place on British terms – in line with the “UK Global Tariff” that we have published – after the end of the transition period. The volume of trade that would be impacted by such a change varies between different trading partners and we are working closely with businesses to ensure preparedness for any scenario.</p>

star this property answer text <p>A UK-India Free Trade Agreement will offer significant economic opportunities to British business and will benefit domestic consumers.</p><p> </p><p>The macroeconomic impacts of a deal are estimated using a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model. Details of the approach used to assess the macroeconomic impacts and the modelling assumptions are described on page 53 and 54 of the document. The deals enshrine a requirement to maintain domestic legislation to protect data. Australia and New Zealand must also publish information on how they protect data, and how UK citizens can enforce their data rights. The UK continues to champion data protection with all Free Trade Agreement partners in line with our published Digital Trade Objectives.</p> more like this

This was part of a broader suite of documents on the UK-India Free Trade Agreement, including an economic scoping assessment.</p><p> </p><p>My Rt. Hon. Friend the Secretary of State for International Trade made a <a href="https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-statements/detail/2022-01-13/hcws533" target="_blank">Written Ministerial Statement</a> on the 13th of January about the launch of negotiations. Once the provisions of the agreement have been negotiated, HM Government will publish a full impact assessment reflecting the outcome.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>After the Transition Period, the UK will have a trade preference scheme which at least maintains the preferential market access we currently offer to developing countries.</p><p>We intend that the scheme will have three tiers:</p><p>• The General Framework for low and lower-middle income countries that receive the EU’s standard Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP)</p><p>• The Enhanced Framework for vulnerable low and lower-middle income countries that are part of the EU’s GSP+. <br>• The Least Developed Country Framework for least developed countries which currently benefit from the EU’s Everything But Arms.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>All of the tradeshows in India that the Department for International Trade (DIT) had planned to support at the start of 2021 (January – March) via the old <strong>Tradeshow Access Programme</strong> were cancelled due to Covid. Tradeshows in India for the remainder of 2021 were also cancelled.</p><p> </p><p>We are however making support available to UK businesses for them to attend and exhibit at a number of events in India for the remainder of 2022/23, via the new <strong>UK Tradeshow Programme</strong>.</p><p> </p><p>DIT actively supports businesses in a variety of ways to seek export opportunities in India.</p> more like this
