The allocations are continually reviewed throughout the year and may increase to respond to changing needs. For example, support for Yemen will increase from £90 million in 2015/16 to £112 million in 2016/17 in light of the humanitarian crisis. It has since piloted a method of assessing glaciers in the region using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The studies indicate that the Himalayan glaciers have been shrinking overall at 0.4-0.5% per year since the 1950s. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/10/2016 answer text <p>My department’s assessment is that aid delivered by road, by trusted humanitarian partners who can ensure it gets to those who need it most, remains the best way of getting help to affected populations. The use of air drops to deliver aid is high risk and should only be considered as a last resort when all other means have failed, and if it is an effective way of getting humanitarian supplies to people. We use assessments from humanitarian agencies, including the United Nations, to determine how we can best support these vulnerable children.</p><p>The assessments reinforce that psychological trauma amongst children is acute in some of the world’s worst conflicts. In Syria, the annual UN Humanitarian Needs Overview states that 1 in 4 children are at risk of developing mental health disorders. In Iraq, UNICEF judges emotional distress as a critical issue for children fleeing or currently living under Daesh. Afghan children are at risk of psychological distress, particularly in urban areas.
