This is part of over £7.9 billion government funding provided to councils to help them support their communities during the pandemic.</p><p>The Community Champion scheme is specifically targeted at areas where challenges may be greatest due to the local combination of disproportionately impacted groups – including people with disabilities and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.</p> more like this

We also spoke with wider representative across London and Manchester, including the Combined Authority, and a range of officers across England in local authorities.</p> more like this
