Ministers will correspond directly with the Member.</del><ins class="ministerial">The latest English Housing Survey for 2017-18 estimates that there are 379,000 households where the Household Reference Person is 65 years and older, the age range for which data is collated by the annual English Housing Survey. The proportion of people aged 65 or over in the private rented sector has remained broadly stable at 8-9 per cent since 2014/15.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">We know that security of tenure is a concern for many in the private rented sector, including older renters. That is why the Government announced in April that it proposes to create new rules around ending a tenancy by reviewing. Section 21 of the Housing Act 1988. These proposals are currently subject to consultation until 12 October and accompanied by a package of court reforms to make the system faster and simpler. These Funds are part of the government’s plan to level up our regions and create a more united country, one where people throughout the UK can benefit from our shared prosperity.</p><p>In December we paid out £16.4 million in capacity funding to local authorities from the initial 100 towns to support the development of a Town Deal Board and Investment Plan for each of the shortlisted towns in their area.</p><p>We have also to date spent £20.4 million from the Future High Street Fund on capacity funding, resourcing and to support policies that we have announced such as the High Streets Task Force. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/04/2020 answer text <p>The 2020-21 settlement for local government responds to the pressures councils are facing by providing access to the largest year on year increase in spending power in a decade.</p><p>The additional £1 billion funding announced for adult and children’s social care, together with the continuation of existing social care grant funding worth £2.5 billion and the Adult Social Care Precept, means that the Government will give local authorities access to almost £6 billion of dedicated funding across adult and children’s social care in 2020-21. Shropshire Council will have access to £34.5 million of dedicated social care funding over this period.</p><p>In March, the Government provided an additional £1.6 billion to help local authorities respond to coronavirus (COVID-19) pressures across all the services they deliver, including Adult Social Care. Just under £9 million was allocated to Shropshire. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is also discussing priorities and support measures with councils in each of the nine English regions, alongside a Ministerial-led Covid19 local delivery board with councillors.
