answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/09/2021 answer text <p>Local authorities are responsible for drawing up and operating their allocation scheme for social housing within the framework of legislation which ensures that they must give 'reasonable preference' to specific groups including people who need to move on medical or welfare grounds, including grounds relating to a disability. This will include people with mental health problems.</p><p>Statutory guidance in 2012 advises local authorities to consider giving additional preference to those who those who need to move urgently because of a sudden disability.</p><p>The Social Housing White Paper sets out clear expectations that all social housing tenants, especially those with mental health problems, receive a professional service from competent and empathetic landlord staff. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/06/2021 answer text <p>We are aware that some leaseholders are finding their buildings insurance premiums are increasing, or insurance is unobtainable, where their block has building safety concerns.</p><p>Ministers have met with senior representatives from the largest insurance companies. Ministers encouraged insurers to take a proportionate approach to risk and requested market solutions to address the issue. One of the largest insurers has recently stepped into this market.</p><p>The Government has provided an unprecedented investment of £5 billion to protect leaseholders from the costs of cladding remediation and ensure no leaseholder will ever pay more than £50 a month to remove cladding, as part of a new Government-backed scheme.</p><p>We will continue to engage with the insurance industry to address the issue of increased building insurance premiums and encourage them to take a proportionate approach to risk.</p> answering member constituency Tamworth answering member printed Christopher Pincher question first answered 29/06/2021 14:06:30 answering member 4075 label Biography information for Christopher Pincher

The Call for Evidence also sought views on steps that Government could take after 30 June, ranging from a phased withdrawal of current protections to legislative options targeted at those businesses most impacted by COVID-19.
