answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/05/2019 answer text <p>On 9 May 2019, Government announced its commitment to fully fund the remediation of private sector high-rise residential blocks with unsafe Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding, except where a warranty claim has been accepted. As of the end of April 2019, there are 175 high-rise private sector residential buildings identified with ACM. Several developers who had committed to fund remediation have agreed to maintain this commitment, and not draw on the fund. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/05/2019 answer text <p>The private sector remediation fund, announced on 9 May, will cover remediation costs of all private sector high-rise (over 18 metres) residential buildings with unsafe Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding, except where a warranty claim has been accepted. To support the fund, local authorities have a range of enforcement powers, including serving improvement notices or undertaking emergency remedial work themselves. We are backing local authorities taking enforcement action where building owners are refusing to remediate high-rise buildings with unsafe cladding.  <br> <br> We are engaging with local authorities who are taking, or are considering taking, enforcement action for buildings with unsafe ACM. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/05/2019 answer text <p>On 9 May the Government announced a fund for the remediation of unsafe Aluminium Composite Material cladding on all high-rise (over 18 metres) residential private sector buildings in England, excluding those which have had a warranty claim accepted. Where leaseholders have had to pay for remediation, the building owner or the managing agent on their behalf would be eligible to apply to the fund for a refund for those costs that would qualify under the terms of the fund. In this scenario, any funding agreement will contain a condition that ensures that funding is provided only on the basis that leaseholders are fully reimbursed. We will write to all potential fund applicants by the middle of May to start engaging them, and publish the full fund application guidance and criteria by mid-July.</p><p>In the meantime, my officials have been in contact with the managing agents for Paddington Walk. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/05/2019 answer text <p>The Government Chief Scientific Adviser has established an independent Science Advisory Group to quality-check the scientific methodology, testing process and analysis of results at each stage of the Government-led programme of additional Grenfell environmental checks. Professor Stec is a member of this group and MHCLG officials have attended meetings. The Science Advisory Group has reviewed Professor Stec’s research and reiterated their previous view that it does not change the approach or timetable of the Government-led environmental checks programme, on the basis that the research is preliminary which recommends the need for further investigations.</p><p>In February 2018, MHCLG officials participated in a multi-agency teleconference chaired by the West London Clinical Commissioning Group and including officials from Public Health England to discuss Professor Stec’s research.
