answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/06/2019 answer text <p>Catering services have increased the number of vegetarian and vegan options across all menus over the past year and there are plans for the range to continue to grow this year. Catering services will continue to support National Vegetarian week and Vegan Month. Some chefs have also attended a two day training course looking at new ideas in plant-based foods to enhance the menus, with further development opportunities planned.</p><p>Catering prices are reviewed on an annual basis and amended to reflect one year’s change in the food price index (a subset of the consumer price index) and applied as a standard percentage increase across the whole product range. New prices come into effect in April, at the beginning of each new financial year.</p><p>The Finance Committee sets the overall budget direction and targets, and the Administration Committee confirms that the pricing percentages work within the overall budget direction and target once they have been presented to them on an annual basis. The House of Commons Commission is asked for a final decision if agreement cannot be reached with both Committees.</p><p>The catering budget set for 2019/20 for food gross profit is to achieve a 62% gross profit margin. Hardware will be upgraded to more up to date kit with Windows 10 deployed, which is faster and more secure. Combined with the rollout of digital tools such as Office 365, SharePoint and Skype for Business, this means easier collaboration on constituency matters and new ways of working between Westminster and constituency offices and staff.<br></p><p>Since November 2018, 725 orders for new kit have been processed and 438 deployments completed across Westminster and in constituencies. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/01/2019 answer text <p>The Pass Office recently introduced a Netcall telephone management system in order to monitor calls. In general, this shows that the Pass Office is receiving an increased volume of calls. This reflects a 17% increase in the number of pass applications, from 10,849 in 2017 to 12,940 in 2018. In particular, the Pass Office experienced a large increase in calls following the Christmas break. This coincided with a period when the Pass Office was suffering from staff shortages. While this is now being addressed, it has meant that the office currently has fewer people dedicated to responding to calls, as the back-office team also perform duties such as processing security clearance applications.</p><p>The Pass Office is keen to ensure good customer service. As calls to the Pass Office are often to check on the status of applications, callers are being advised to email the Pass Office with the relevant information. This is so that Pass Office staff can then respond more effectively and swiftly to these enquiries. The replacement provides an improved platform from which to implement further service enhancements. In parallel in 2018 we prototyped some tools to explore how we might provide the annunciator plus additional extended information in a mobile app. A key learning was that to provide Members with a smartphone app with the timeliness and accuracy of the annunciator service required further feasibility work. Funding for this feasibility work is available in the new financial year and also for some user research with Members to confirm what other new features related to the Annunciator would be of most benefit.
