<p>Passports are cancelled electronically on the HMPO systems when they have been renewed or when a new passport has been issued. This will also occur when passports have been reported lost, stolen or when HMPO is notified that the holder is deceased.</p><p>Passports are also cancelled when passport facilities are withdrawn within the terms of the then Home Secretary’s written ministerial statement of 25 April 2013.</p>
