answer text <p>The Home Office has a Service Standard to make an initial asylum decision on straightforward claims within 182 days of the date of claim however we are aware of the number of older cases in the system. These are more complex cases which generally have barriers that prevents an initial asylum decision being made. answer text <p>The Home Office is committed to reducing its use of single-use plastics and is actively taking steps to achieve this.</p><p> </p><p>At our London headquarters, we have already replaced all single-use plastic coffee cups, food containers and cutlery from our catering services, with biodegradable alternatives. We have also begun to phase out single-use plastic water cups across the estate.</p><p> </p><p>We will continue to work with The Department for Environment, Food &amp; Rural Affairs and our suppliers to remove single-use plastics from our office estate.</p> more like this

answer text <p>In December 2017 we delivered on our commitment to protect the rights of EU citizens living in the UK before we leave the EU in March 2019. This was further established in March, when a reciprocal deal was agreed extending citizens’ rights until the end of the implementation period – December 2020.</p><p>The Home Office is making good progress in developing the system to issue immigration status to all resident EU citizens, and their family members, and intend to launch the settlement scheme at the end of this year.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government understands the distress that can be caused by the theft of a pet. It is therefore important that these crimes, when they take place, are reported to the police so that they can be investigated and, where appropriate, the perpetrators taken through the courts and given appropriate sentences.</p><p>In 2017-18 the Government is providing police forces in England and Wales with direct Government funding worth over £7.5 billion to tackle all types of crime. As far as the police response to individual incidents are concerned, it is for Chief Constables and Police and Crime Commissioners, as operational leaders and elected local representatives, to decide how best to deploy resources to manage and respond to crime and local priorities.</p> more like this
