<p>In June 2012 the Police ICT Company was established as a company limited by guarantee.
It is currently jointly owned by the Home Office and the Association of Police and
Crime Commissioners (APCC), until Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) take full
ownership. <br><br>As the Home Secretary said in her speech on 20 October, it is for
PCCs to take immediate decisions on the specific functions of the company, and the
development of a collective approach to managing and procuring police ICT. Local policing
decisions, including on IT, are best made locally, by those accountable to the communities
that the police serve.</p><p> </p>
