This includes the collation and dissemination of good practice and developing guidance on the use of Impact Statements for Business, which give victims of business crime the opportunity to set out the impact the crime has had on the business, including, for example, financial loss. This provides that the Home Office may reduce or decline to make an award under the scheme to a claimant who has been convicted of an offence in respect of which they have received a sentence of imprisonment of four years or more and their offending was of such a nature that it makes it inappropriate to make an award in whole or in part. After referral the claimant will be contacted to arrange an appointment in person or over the phone, where the claimant is in the UK.
