star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to tackling modern slavery, including labour exploitation and ensuring that victims are identified early and provided with the support they need to rebuild their lives.</p><p> </p><p>The safety of victims is paramount and is fully considered before any enforcement action is taken by Immigration Enforcement. All law enforcement officers, including immigration officers, receive training as part of their induction on spotting the signs of labour exploitation and modern slavery. Law enforcement bodies also work together to tackle the unscrupulous employers behind these cruel crimes. star this property answer text <p>A wide range of offences already exist which cover assaults against any worker, and a change in the law is not needed.</p><p>The current sentencing guidelines include an aggravating factor for an assault committed against a person who is providing a service to the public, such as a shop worker. In these circumstances a more severe sentence can be given.</p> more like this

Nor does it consider our prioritisation of children and the most vulnerable.</p><p>We are working to improve the speed of decisions and reduce the number of outstanding claims; but there will always be complex cases, and it is right we take time to work through them carefully, not rush to meet an arbitrary deadline.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We take the welfare of asylum seekers extremely seriously and accommodation at Napier Barracks was configured in accordance with public health advice with a range of infection control measures in place. Despite our best efforts a number of those accommodated at the site have tested positive for coronavirus and an outbreak management plan was put in place.</p><p>Following the serious disturbance caused by some asylum seekers on site recently, immediate steps were taken to reconfigure accommodation to maintain outbreak management and allow for self-isolation of all those remaining on site.</p><p> </p> more like this

And this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.</p><p>The police must take the toughest possible action against any form of antisemitism. Jewish people must feel safe.</p><p>Everyone has freedom of speech and the right to protest peacefully. That does not include the right to be racist, to harass anyone, or to incite hatred or violence. Moreover, holding Jewish people collectively responsible for the actions – real or imagined - of the Israeli state is antisemitic. Anyone who engages in antisemitic behaviour must feel the full force of the law.</p> more like this
