	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/11/2020 answer text <p>The immigration removal estate is kept under ongoing review to ensure that the Home Office has sufficient capacity, in the right places and that it provides value for money.</p><p>In August, the pre-existing Short-Term Holding Facility (STHF) at Yarl’s Wood, in which clandestine entrants may be held by UK Visas and Immigration for a short time to resolve their position before being dispersed through appropriate routes, was temporarily expanded to incorporate the whole site. At this time Yarl’s Wood was operated solely in accordance with the STHF Rules 2018.</p><p>In light of changing demands in the immigration removal estate and in line with business recovery, we have now transitioned part of the Yarl’s Wood site back to an immigration removal centre for women.</p><p>In order to meet operational needs and demands, we will continue to operate the immigration removal estate, including Yarl’s Wood, in a flexible manner and in line with the STHF Rules 2018 and the Detention Centre Rules 2001, as appropriate.</p> answering member constituency Croydon South answering member printed Chris Philp question first answered 25/11/2020 14:16:42 answering member 4503 label Biography information for Chris Philp

We are currently in the discovery and scoping phase of the review.</p><p>There are six primary streams to the compliant environment – some of which only apply to England and Wales – which will be covered in our response to this recommendation. These are:</p><ul><li>Work – to prevent those who are ineligible from working;</li><li>Housing – to prevent those without lawful status from accessing the private rental sector.</li><li>Public Funds – to prevent those who are ineligible from accessing mainstream support and benefits;</li><li>Health – to charge upfront for non-urgent health care and recover costs for emergency treatment where payment upfront was not possible;</li><li>Financial Services – to prevent people deemed as disqualified due to lack of lawful status from accessing current accounts;</li><li>Driving – to prevent those without lawful status from holding licences while in the UK.</li></ul><p>A full evaluation of the Right to Rent scheme is already underway. The evaluation includes a call for evidence to tenants, landlords and letting agents; a large mystery shopping exercise; and surveys of landlords. Members of the right to rent consultative panel provided input into the design of the evaluation. Until then, EEA citizens can use their passport or national identity card to evidence their right to work. Non-visa nationals can apply for entry under this route at the border. Visa nationals must apply for entry under this route before travel. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/12/2020 answer text <p>There is no intention for extradition to any EU jurisdiction after the end of transition period to be made subject to a court ruling that there is a prima facie case.</p><p>In the absence of an agreement on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice with the European Union, the UK’s extradition relations with EU Member States would be governed by the European Convention on Extradition 1957 and its Additional Protocols. The prima facie evidence requirement for extradition requests from States which are parties to the European Convention on Extradition was removed when the Convention came into force in the UK in May 1991. To introduce a prima facie case requirement would be incompatible with the Convention.</p><p>The Government’s approach to negotiations with the EU provides for extradition arrangements which are more streamlined than the European Convention on Extradition.
