UK Visas and Immigration would take action to investigate the sponsor who has failed to comply with their duties. This may result in a sponsor having their licence revoked, therefore losing their ability to recruit staff from overseas. We have published guidance for prospective overseas candidates to help them make informed decisions and prepare for life in the United Kingdom. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/02/2024 answer text <p>The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance Chronic kidney disease: Assessment and management [NG203], updated in November 2021, sets out best practice for clinicians in the diagnosis and management of chronic kidney disease (CKD). The guidance covers: monitoring for those patients at risk; pharmacological management; and referral where appropriate. The guidance is available at the following link:</p><p><a href="https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng203" target="_blank">https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng203</a></p><p>In addition to evidence-based guidance to support clinicians to diagnose problems of the kidney, we are also working to detect people at risk of kidney disease through the NHS Health Check Programme. The programme, which is available for everyone between the ages of 40 and 74 years old who are not already on a chronic disease register, assesses people’s health and risk of developing certain health problems. Using this information, patients are supported to make behavioural changes and access treatment which helps to prevent and detect kidney disease earlier.</p><p>We are investing in new delivery models for the NHS Health Check, including nearly £17 million for the development and roll-out of an innovative new national digital NHS Health Check available this spring, and will give people a choice about where and when to have a check.</p><p>The UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC) reviewed CKD and glomerulonephritis in 2011, concluding that a population-wide screening programme would not be recommended, and has not recently looked at the evidence for a targeted programme. The UK NSC can be alerted to any new peer-reviewed evidence published which may support the case for a new screening programme. Proposals to change or review a topic early can be submitted via the UK NSC’s annual call, which will open in July 2024. We are committed to protecting this funding for dentistry purposes, and will ringfence the funding in 2024/25. We will issue guidance to integrated care boards (ICBs) shortly, through NHS England’s 2024/25 revenue finance and contracting guidance. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/02/2024 answer text <p>The attached table shows the number of calls received by NHS 111 for patients with dental symptoms for each year from 2019/20 to 2023/24, broken into symptom groups, as well as the yearly and sum total of calls for patients with dental symptoms.</p><p>It is not possible to tell from this table how many calls the National Health Service received specifically about dental pain, but in the last five years there have been just under 4.8 million calls to NHS 111 resulting in a disposition of dental symptoms. Provision of dementia health care services is the responsibility of local integrated care boards (ICBs). NHS England would expect ICBs to commission services based on local population needs.</p><p> </p><p>The Dementia Well Pathway includes diagnosing well, living well, supporting well, and dying well, and highlights that services need to be integrated, commissioned, monitored, and aligned with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence’s (NICE) standards for each component of the pathway. It makes it clear that individual needs, wishes and preferences should be taken into account in planning and providing care.</p><p> </p><p>In January 2023 the Government announced that it will publish a Major Conditions Strategy early 2024. This will help to ensure that staff have the right knowledge and skills to provide safe and compassionate care for people with a learning disability.</p><p>We are taking steps to help care homes improve the support they provide through the Care Workforce Pathway that sets clear expectations about training at different stages of a career. This includes learning disability and dementia as specific areas of practice.
