answer text <p>Individual National Health Service organisations are responsible for maintaining their estates. NHS provider organisations invest more than £3 billion of capital annually. 2019-20 NHS planning guidance makes clear that providers should ensure capital investments are consistent with their clinical strategies and how they demonstrate the delivery of safe, productive services.</p><p>We recognise the challenge for providers in maintaining their existing estates and investing in new facilities. In August 2019, we announced £1.8 billion of additional funding, which included a £1 billion boost to NHS capital spending, allowing existing upgrade programmes to proceed and tackling the most urgent infrastructure projects.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department has not made an assessment on the adequacy of neuromuscular physiotherapy provision for children and adults at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.</p><p> </p><p>Neuromuscular physiotherapy provision is provided locally by Nottingham University NHS Trust. The Speciality General Manager for Children’s Medicine at the Trust has written a business case to appoint a specialist neuromuscular physiotherapist, which is scheduled for Trust governance approval very shortly.</p><p> </p><p>In correspondence with the hon. Member for Nottingham East (Mr Chris Leslie) on the same issue, the Chief Executive at the Trust has assured the hon. Member that the Trust adult and paediatric neurology and physiotherapy services had been working together, and had agreed to address neuromuscular physiotherapy provision.</p> more like this
