Since the requirements were introduced for international travel testing, the costs have fallen significantly. We are committed to working with the travel industry and private providers to reduce these costs and we have made NHS Test and Trace tests available around the market mid-point to ensure testing is available at an appropriate cost.</p><p>Anyone facing significant financial hardship as a result of the requirement to take a day two or day eight test on return from travelling overseas can apply for hardship arrangements, including deferred payment plans. The UK and European Union (EU) are aligned in the technical approach to COVID-19 status certification, with the UK supporting global consistent minimum technical standards in an interoperable and cross-border way. Any professionals visiting a care home, such as healthcare workers, tradespeople, hairdressers and beauticians and Care Quality Commission inspectors will also be required to show they have been vaccinated before entering the home, unless they have a medical exemption. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/07/2021 answer text <p>In June 2020, Public Health England (PHE) used an established methodology to complete a rapid review of the evidence related to face coverings in the community and COVID-19 and concluded that “the beneficial effects of wearing masks may be increased when combined with other non-pharmaceutical interventions, such as hand washing and social distancing.” A second review published in January 2021 corroborated the findings of the first and found consistent evidence that the use of face coverings in community settings reduced the spread of COVID-19.</p><p>These reviews also looked at laboratory simulations in which the filtration efficacy of face coverings was tested. All face covering materials tested were deemed to offer some protection to the wearer through filtration of aerosol and droplet transmission compared with no barrier at all, and mouth and nose cover reduced droplet spread from the wearer. The review noted that this evidence derives from laboratory conditions and only simulates the COVID-19 virus, so may not take into account conditions in the community.</p><p>PHE’s review findings supports the voluntary wearing of face coverings as they can have beneficial impacts for wearers and others around them. Individuals in stage two should be offered a booster vaccine as soon as practicable after stage one, with equal emphasis on deployment of the flu vaccine where eligible. The JCVI suggests those aged 16 to 49 years old who are in an influenza or COVID-19 at risk group which includes some sufferers of chronic respiratory disease and asthma, are currently included in stage two.</p><p>Based on the JCVI’s interim advice, those eligible in phase one of the COVID-19 vaccination programme are likely to be offered a booster which includes unpaid carers.
