answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/05/2019 answer text <p>The International GP Recruitment (IGPR) Programme was announced in August 2017 and recruitment began from April 2018. Prior to this, four pilot schemes were established between May 2016 and November 2017. Data on the number of general practitioners (GPs) who accepted a place on the IGPR programme and the pilot schemes and which countries they were recruited from for the years 2016/17 - 2019/20 could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.</p><p>Staff involved in the IGPR Programme are undertaking wider workforce retention activities and the spend on international recruitment is therefore not separately identifiable. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/05/2019 answer text <p>NHS England is working with partners across the criminal justice and immigration removal system to improve services for offenders and detainees with mental health difficulties.</p><p> </p><p>National Health Service England specialised commissioners and NHS England health and justice (H&amp;J) Commissioners have also been working collaboratively alongside the mental health team in NHS England to develop work to improve mental health of prisoners and to develop and improve the system for transfers and remissions of adult prisoners to mental health hospitals</p><p> </p><p>Mental health summits are being delivered regionally to develop the whole offender mental health pathway, identifying local anomalies, and gaps as well as good practice, and producing locally owned action plans to improve services.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, new service specifications have been published for both low and medium secure hospitals as well as prison mental health services. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/05/2019 answer text <p>The 2019-20 baseline budget for the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB) maternity programme has been finalised and HSIB have been informed of the outcome.</p><p>The average cost of a HSIB maternity investigation is £19,000 per investigation. This includes the cost of clinical expertise and training for maternity investigators to lead professional investigations.</p><p>69 investigations were referred to the HSIB between 1 April and 30 September 2018. No investigations were completed in that period as the Maternity Directions requires investigations to be completed in six months and there were no referrals received in the first month of the HSIB implementing the maternity programme.</p><p>As from 1 April 2019, the HSIB maternity investigations programme is fully staffed and operational in every healthcare region in England. At the end of April 2019, 147.6 whole time equivalent staff are employed by the HSIB to conduct maternity investigations. In line with the Department’s commitment to meet the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) standards for transparency of ODA spend, details of all research projects funded through the Department’s ODA allocation are reported to IATI and published online via d-portal.</p><p> </p><p>Whilst the Department is responsible for allocating ODA research funding, the responsibility for publishing research outputs lies with the researchers themselves, as appropriate and relevant to their work. Research projects directly commissioned and funded through the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Global Health Research programme are contractually obliged to publish their final report, which will be made publicly available through the NIHR Journals Library, along with any additional publications throughout the project lifetime. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/05/2019 answer text <p>NHS England has commissioned liaison and diversion services in custody suites and courts aimed at identifying those who are vulnerable. It is anticipated that by 2020-21, that service will cover the whole of England.</p><p>All children and young people within the secure estate are screened for brain injury through the comprehensive health assessment tool.</p><p>The NHS England prison health care national standards service specification requires providers to screen individuals where it is suspected that they may have an acquired brain injury. If an adult prisoner presents with a significant brain injury, a specialist neurological referral is made.</p><p>There are specific diagnostics for those whose presentations suggest a cause for concern.
