This is on the basis that paramedics working in primary care, who can demonstrate that cervical sample taker training is relevant to their role and practice, should be able to undertake the NHS Cervical Screening Programme recognised cervical sample taker training. This was intended to be used as a flexible use of the professional workforce and utilised in line with need. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/06/2022 answer text <p>Second Degree Paramedicine students are not eligible for support from the Student Loans Company and therefore, are not eligible for the NHS Learning Support Fund.</p><p>The Department of Health and Social Care is in discussions with the Department for Education about providing an Equivalent or Lower Qualification exemption to the student finance rules for paramedicine. Subject to the outcome of these discussions and availability of the necessary funding, those studying paramedicine as a second degree could access tuition fee and maintenance loan support if eligible and if so, would have access to the NHS Learning Support Fund.</p><p>The Government keeps the funding arrangements for all pre-registration National Health Service health professionals’ education under review, to ensure that students are appropriately supported. The training standards are set by the Health and Care Professionals Council. Some students may also be eligible for additional funding, including non-repayable financial support to help with childcare costs.</p><p>Eligible students can also claim some costs associated with clinical placement and an exceptional hardship fund of up to £3,000 per year. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/02/2019 answer text <p>The NHS Learning Support Fund (LSF) was implemented in 2017 to ensure course sustainability so that subjects previously funded through National Health Service bursaries continued to offer some non-repayable funding for the unique characteristics of these courses – such as placement length, clinical placement requirements and student demographic. The LSF is applicable only to those courses which, at the time, were within the scope of the education funding reforms in 2017.</p><p> </p><p>In 2017 the route into paramedicine had various education and funding models which did not include access to an NHS Bursary, therefore it was not part of the funding reforms and students were not eligible to access LSF funding.</p><p> </p><p>From March 2018 paramedicine became an all degree subject, with students accessing loans and allowances from the Student Loans Company.
