answer text <p>The information requested is not collected centrally by the Department or NHS England as a national access and waiting times standard for children and young people’s mental health services in England has not yet been defined or set.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England has consulted on the potential to introduce five new waiting time standards as part of its Clinically-led Review of National Health Service access standards, including that children, young people and their families, presenting to community-based mental health services should start to receive care within four weeks from referral. As a first step, NHS England has recently shared and promoted guidance with its local system partners to consistently report waiting times to support the development of a baseline position.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Local authority funding is a matter for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.</p><p>The Department recognises the need to increase funding for National Health Service mental health services for children and young people. The planned spend by NHS clinical commissioning groups on children and young people’s mental health for 2018/19 is £727.3 million. This represents an increase of around 40% from the spend in 2015/16, which was £516 million.</p> more like this
