The review aims to:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>- secure the best outcomes for all patients;</p><p> </p><p>- tackle variation; and</p><p> </p><p>- improve patient experience.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The review has developed a set of draft standards and service specifications which are currently out to public consultation. The consultation runs until 8 December. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/11/2014 answer text <p>The Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme, run by the Royal College of Physicians and funded through the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership, aims to improve the quality of stroke care by auditing stroke services against evidence based standards.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We know that when stroke survivors leave hospital, it is important that the right services are in place to ensure they have the support they need to make the best possible recovery. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/12/2014 answer text <p>Patients in England have a right to start consultant-led treatment within a maximum of 18 weeks from referral for non-urgent conditions.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Whilst these waiting times are low and stable, some patients have not been starting their treatment as quickly as we would like. As a result, £250 million of additional funding has been provided to fund additional elective care treatments in 2014-15. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/12/2014 answer text <p>Change4Life is the Government’s flagship social marketing programme aimed at preventing childhood obesity by inspiring everyone to eat well, move more and live longer.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Change4Life evaluation plan was published in 2012 and focused on a balanced scorecard of eight measures, designed to track how effective Change4Life was against its aims and objectives. Public Health England (PHE) reported back on these eight measures in the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/public-health-england-marketing-strategy-2014-to-2017" target="_blank">PHE Marketing Strategy 2014 to 2017</a>, published 3 July 2014.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>This concluded that the public investment in Change4Life has secured world-leading results:</p><p> </p><p>- Change4Life has partnered with over 200 national organisations providing more than £52 million of in-kind support.</p><p> </p><p>- It has more than 70,000 local supporters, including schools, general practices, charities and leisure centres, reporting that they collectively deliver 380,000 hours of unpaid time to the movement each year.</p><p> </p><p>- Since its launch more than 2.7 million people have signed up.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Battersea answering member printed Jane Ellison question first answered 16/12/2014 17:00:59 answering member 3918 label Biography information for Jane Ellison

Since its launch more than 1.9 million families have joined Change4Life. Its tools and resources incentivise and encourage behaviour change. NHS England and clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) have responsibility for determining the overall national approach to achieve this and improve clinical outcomes from healthcare services for people with respiratory disease, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In December 2013, NHS England published Our Ambition to Reduce Premature Mortality: A resource to support commissioners in setting a level of ambition. This resource sets out the high impact interventions that CCGs can commission to improve outcomes for people with physical health conditions such COPD and asthma. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/01/2015 answer text <p>NHS England, Public Health England (PHE) and the Department are working jointly with stakeholders to make sure that patients with liver disease, including cirrhosis, are supported. This work includes taking forward the recommendations of the recent Lancet Commission report on liver disease in the United Kingdom. In addition, PHE is working with stakeholders to develop a liver disease framework.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We are also taking action to prevent people developing liver disease in the first place by tackling two of the main causes of liver disease – obesity and alcohol misuse. This includes:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>- our Call to Action on Obesity, which sets out two national ambitions for a downward trend in level of excess weight in children and adults by 2020;</p><p> </p><p>- our Alcohol Strategy, which aims to cut the number of people drinking above the lower-risk guidelines; and</p><p> </p><p>- PHE’s five outcome focussed priorities which includes helping people to live longer and more healthy lives by reducing preventable deaths and the burden of ill health associated with, amongst others, alcohol.</p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p>In addition, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence is developing clinical guidance on the assessment and management of cirrhosis.
