star this property answer text <p>Following the conclusion of its review NHS England has set up an improvement support programme working with 11 clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to improve services for wheelchair users. The 11 CCGs are:</p><p>- North Yorkshire (NHS Harrogate and Rural District;</p><p>- NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby;</p><p>- NHS Scarborough and Ryedale;</p><p>- NHS Vale of York CCG;</p><p>- North West London (NHS West London);</p><p>- NHS Hounslow;</p><p>- NHS Ealing;</p><p>- NHS Central London;</p><p>- NHS Hammersmith and Fulham;</p><p>- NHS Barnet; and</p><p>- NHS Brent.</p><p>NHS Improving Quality is supporting the programme which will run from September 2015 to March 2016 and include creating guidance, evidence and material to share with other organisations and communities.</p><p>NHS England has also introduced a new national wheelchair dataset with the aim of providing information centrally on the volume, expenditure, access to, and patient experience about wheelchair services to enable transparency and benchmarking. From July 2015, data are being collected quarterly from CCGs.</p>

star this property answer text <p>Pay levels in the National Health Service should support NHS organisations to recruit, retain and motivate the staff they need to care for patients whether in hospitals or patient’s own homes.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Pay is not the only part of the NHS employment offer. NHS staff now receive Total Reward Statements which show the value of other benefits, for example, the NHS occupational pension scheme which includes Life Assurance, child care voucher schemes, health and wellbeing benefits. Supported by good staff engagement strategies it is the overall employment offer that helps the NHS to attract and keep the staff it needs.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Since 2010, there are more than 9,100 additional doctors and 8,200 nurses, midwives and health visitors employed in the NHS.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>This is a matter for NHS England.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Minimum Practice Income Guarantee (MPIG) was introduced as part of the 2004 General Medical Services (GMS) contract as a temporary top-up payment to some general practitioner practices to smooth the transition to new funding arrangements. It is being phased out because it is not fair. We want a simplified, fair and transparent system. The funding released from MPIG over seven years will be reinvested in the basic payments made to all GMS practices. For the majority of practices there will be a net gain in practice income. Making changes over this period will allow the minority of practices that lose funding to adjust gradually to a reduction in payments.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Patient safety continues to be paramount and the rules include a ‘break glass’ provision for trusts should there be a need to pay in excess of the agency price caps for patient safety reasons. Trust boards are responsible for monitoring the impact of price caps and ensuring patient safety. More broadly, the Care Quality Commission Chief Inspector of Hospitals has been clear that he wants to see fewer agency staff because of the patient safety implications - continuity of care being so important to good services for patients.</p> more like this
