star this property answer text <p>The Department has no plans to commission a study on the specific risk of transmission of Alzheimer’s disease in dentistry. There is no evidence that Alzheimer's disease can be transmitted through any medical procedure. In dentistry, patients are protected from the risk of infection by either mandatory single use instruments, or where instruments are reused, by guidance on strict decontamination procedures as per the Health Technical Memorandum 01-05: Decontamination in primary care dental practices - 2013 edition.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>A person who is not ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom is subject to the National Health Service (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations 2015 which apply charges to overseas visitors for any NHS hospital services they receive, unless an exemption category in the Charging Regulations applies.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Overseas visitors who ordinarily reside outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and who have not paid the Health Surcharge, nor meet any exemption from charge will be charged 150% of the national tariff. Charging 150% of the national tariff provides for additional administrations charges incurred with treating overseas visitors such as translation services.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Charges for overseas visitors who ordinarily reside within EEA states can be claimed from the country they normally reside in.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>National Health Service staff earning above £21,000 had their pay frozen during 2011/12 and 2012/13 with, since then, most staff receiving at least 1% increases. This approach to pay has helped protect jobs in the NHS and maintain services for patients.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>There is no evidence that the pay freeze affected staff morale. While the NHS Staff Survey, which provides the most comprehensive assessment of staff views about working in the NHS, does not directly measure staff morale, staff engagement, which includes staff motivation at work, staff recommending their trust as a place to work or receive treatment, and the percentage of staff able to contribute towards improvements at work, has remained high with a score of 3.76/5 in 2014 (latest available) rising from 3.68/5 in 2012 (the first year staff engagement was included).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The costs incurred by National Health Service trusts for high cost devices such as implantable and cardiac resynchronisation defibrillators are re-charged to NHS England on a pass-through basis, i.e. the re-charge equals the cost invoiced by the supplier of the device. Correspondingly the financial impact of high cost device purchases are cost-neutral to NHS trusts and do not impact on their income and expenditure position.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>However, NHS England specialised commissioning is currently supporting NHS trusts with information on European Union compliant procurement frameworks that offer better value for the taxpayer.</p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p> more like this
