	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/06/2019 answer text <p>An increase in mumps activity was observed in England in the first quarter (Q1) of 2019 with 795 laboratory confirmed mumps infections. Cases were reported in all regions of England, predominantly in young adults aged 15 to 34 years (703/795, 88%). Almost half (352/795, 44%) of the cases in Q1 were in unvaccinated individuals. Whilst this is triple the total number of infections (247 cases) confirmed in England in Q1 of 2018, increases in mumps cases have been observed in previous years. While the mumps component of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine is highly effective at protecting young children, immunity can wane over time. We will implement the Prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia 2020 (published in February 2015) in full to make sure the lives of those with dementia are transformed by 2020.</p><p> </p><p>Working with our partners, we continue to make progress against the ambitions set in the March 2016 Implementation Plan which details how the commitments in the Challenge, across the four core themes of risk reduction, health and care, awareness and social action, and research will be met. This is reflected in the specific expectation set in the mandate to NHS England 2018/19 that two thirds of people living with dementia should receive a formal diagnosis. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/03/2018 answer text <p>Disease X is a hypothetical infection used to represent the knowledge that a serious international epidemic could be caused by a pathogen currently unknown to cause human disease.</p><p> </p><p>Public Health England (PHE) has comprehensive systems in place to identify and monitor global outbreaks of infectious disease, including incidents where the cause is not identified or the outbreak is caused by a pathogen currently unknown to cause human disease such as World Health Organization’s hypothetical “Disease X”.</p><p> </p><p>Robust risk assessment processes exist to review threats to the United Kingdom population. As information emerges appropriate mitigation strategies will be implemented to protect the health of the UK public. The PHE National Emergency Response plans exist to deal with such event and have cross-Government agreement.</p><p> </p><p>The National Health Service-PHE High Consequence Infectious Disease (HCID) programme, initiated after the Ebola outbreak, has developed clinical and public health protocols and plans to provide a resilient HCID service for England. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/03/2019 answer text <p>High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a technique where high frequency ultrasound waves are aimed at the cancer, heating up the cells with the aim to causing cell death and eradicating the cancer. The technique was reviewed by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence in 2012 who concluded that the evidence on the efficacy of treatment was limited and recommended that HIFU be used in the research setting only (Interventional procedures guidance IPG424).
