Regulatory bodies representing professions in the psychological workforce have recently issued statements on how training and education will be managed during this outbreak.</p><p>It is too early to make a full evaluation of the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has on any additional psychological needs for the population, but the Government will continue to keep this under review. Mental health providers are also looking at how they can maximise the use of digital and virtual channels to keep delivering support to existing and new service users.</p><p> </p><p>NHSX has published guidance to support the use of digital and virtual channels, including off-the-shelf applications such as Skype and WhatsApp, and designed-for purpose commercial products. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/10/2018 answer text <p>The Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme offers a range of National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommended therapies in England for common mental health conditions including depression and anxiety.</p><p> </p><p>For people with a severe mental illness, such as psychosis, bipolar disorder and personality disorder, NHS England has committed to increasing access to psychological therapies, as recommended by the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health.</p><p> </p><p>The 2016 access standard for early intervention state that at least 50% of people experiencing their first episode of psychosis should start a package of care recommended by NICE within two weeks of referral rising to 60% by 2020/21. This includes both physical and mental health. General Practitioner (GP) practices would also signpost patients to debt advice services as part of their care and some practices have arrangements in place with local Citizens Advice Bureaux and debt advice services to provide outreach support in primary care.</p><p> </p><p>In January 2017, my Rt. hon. Friend the Prime Minister announced the Government would review the practice of GPs charging patients experiencing debt issues to complete Mental Health Evidence Forms when they require medical evidence for their creditors. The Department is working with the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute and a range of stakeholders from the financial and debt advice sectors and the British Medical Association to undertake the review.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises the impact that debt may have on mental health and wellbeing and the difficulties that may be experienced by people with mental health problems in managing their debt.
