	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/04/2019 answer text <p>The NHS Long Term Plan commits to “test four-week waiting times for adult and older adult community mental health teams, with selected local areas”.</p><p> </p><p>The ‘Clinically-led Review of NHS Access Standards’ Interim Report, published in March 2019, states that NHS England will test four-week waiting times for adult and older adult community mental health teams with selected local areas. As part of this work, the report states that NHS England will “consider the interfaces with specialist community mental health services, particularly where there is an existing evidence base for rapid direct access, such as adult eating disorder services, or early intervention in psychosis services, for which there is already a national access and waiting time standard in place.”</p><p> </p><p>The interim report sets out the initial proposals for testing changes to access standards in mental health services, cancer care, elective care and urgent and emergency care. The proposals will be field tested at a selection of pilot sites across England, before wider implementation. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/07/2019 answer text <p>For adults with an eating disorder, the NHS Long Term Plan has made a renewed commitment that mental health services will grow faster than the overall National Health Service budget, with additional investment worth at least £2.3 billion a year by 2023/24. This includes investment in community-based adult eating disorder services as part of the Plan’s commitment to transform community-based care for adults with mental health needs.</p><p> </p><p>The NHS is also investing over £30 million in services every year to meet and maintain ambitious waiting targets, with 70 community treatment teams now covering the whole of the country so that more children and young people can get eating disorder care closer to home and out of hospital.</p><p> </p><p>As part of a broader programme of work on community based mental health care for adults, alongside work to explore the effectiveness of different approaches to integrated delivery with primary care and starting this summer, NHS England will test four-week waiting times for adult and older adult community mental health teams with selected local areas to build understanding of how best to introduce ambitious but achievable improvements to access, quality of care and outcomes. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/10/2019 answer text <p>The Government is committed to ensuring that everyone who has a mental health need is able to access timely treatment based on their clinical need.</p><p>We have made ambitious commitments in the NHS Long Term Plan to make mental health services available to an extra 380,000 adults and 345,000 children and young people aged 0-25 by 2023/24.</p><p>The NHS Long Term Plan commits the National Health Service to test and roll out comprehensive waiting time standards for adults and children over the next decade. This builds on the already established waiting time standards for children and young people’s eating disorder services, early intervention for psychosis that covers all ages and adult improving access to psychological therapies services which are all being met or on track for delivery by 2020/21 in line with previous commitments.</p><p>Specific waiting times targets for emergency mental health services will take effect from 2020.</p><p>The ongoing NHS clinical review of standards has reported its interim findings which set out a number of proposed future waiting time standards for testing in mental health. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/01/2020 answer text <p>We have committed at least a further £2.3 billion a year to mental health services by 2023/24 which will see spending for children and young people’s mental health services growing faster than the overall spend on mental health, which will itself be growing faster than the overall National Health Service budget. This multi-billion investment, which is part of the NHS Long Term Plan, will give greater mental health support to an extra 345,000 more children and at least 380,000 more adults.</p><p>In addition, NHS England is working nationally with 12 pilot sites to test the feasibility of delivering a four-week waiting time for children and young people to access to NHS mental health support. This is an outcome of our Green Paper on children and young people’s mental health.</p><p>The agreed pilots end in 2020/21. Results will then be evaluated.
