However, funding for National Health Service mental health services has increased every year since 2018-19 in line with the commitments in the NHS Long Term Plan to invest at least £2.3 billion of extra funding a year in mental health services by 2023-24.</p><p>Public spending on adult social care services has increased in real terms in every year since 2015-16, reaching £18.8 billion in 2019-20. We are providing councils with access to over £1 billion of additional funding for social care in 2021-22. This includes £300 million of new grant funding for social care, on top of the £1 billion social care grant announced in 2019.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>There are no specific plans to review the long-term infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in intensive care units (ITU). However, we have committed to publish a National Infection Prevention Manual for England that will contain guidelines for IPC best practice across healthcare settings. All National Health Service providers will be expected to deliver care to the standards outlined in this guidance.</p><p>The United Kingdom IPC COVID-19 cell monitors and reviews emerging evidence and data and guidance on effective IPC. star this property answer text <p>The Beta variant accounts for a relatively small amount of COVID-19 cases and is on the list of current variants of concern (VOC) monitored by Public Health England and forms part of the wider approach to dealing with VOCs. This includes the continuous tracking and identification of new strains and assessing their impact on the United Kingdom population.</p><p> </p><p>In response to VOCs, including the Beta variant, support measures have been made available to local authorities, including surge testing, enhanced contact tracing, faster standard tracing for all cases in the area as well as direct reporting into a national incident management structure to ensure a consistent and timely response.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Local authorities are best placed to understand and plan for the care needs of the local population and develop and build local market capacity. The Local Government Finance Settlement provides an additional £3.7 billion compared to 2021/22, including £1 billion specifically for social care. Councils also have access to funding from un-ringfenced grants and council tax.</p><p>We are also committing £1.36 billion for the Market Sustainability and Fair Cost of Care Fund. This will support local authorities to prepare markets for reform and move towards paying providers a fair cost of care.</p> more like this
