star this property answer text <p>The Government has a strong track record of reducing the harm caused by tobacco, based on a comprehensive approach to tobacco control, including bans on smoking in public places, and on promotion and advertising of tobacco products; high duty rates; the provision of smoking cessation services; and social marketing campaigns. The Government will maintain this comprehensive approach. The Government’s Tobacco Control Plan for England, published last year, commits to reducing smoking in 15 year olds from 8% in 2017 to 3% in 2022 and the Tobacco Control Delivery Plan, published in June 2018 sets out the various activities different agencies are taking to meet the aims of the plan.</p> more like this

NHS England has published service specifications for the neurological care of both children and adults which include exemplar service specifications for neuromuscular conditions. star this property answer text <p>The Government’s vision document, ‘Prevention is better than cure’, sets out our ambition to put prevention at the heart of health and social care in England. This includes both physical and mental health. However, there are already a number of measures in place or being planned to prevent the onset of mental health difficulties, and to support recovery for those who have experienced such difficulties, including introducing an access target for the service called 'Early Intervention in Psychosis' to help people recover after their first psychotic episode and prevent the condition from worsening in the future, and the range commitments outlined in the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Green Paper.</p><p> </p><p>We will be publishing a Green Paper in 2019 which will set out our further plans on prevention in greater detail.</p> more like this

Changes to the figures over time should be interpreted in the context of improvements in data quality and coverage and changes in NHS practice. For example, changes in activity may be due to changes in the provision of care.</p>

star this property answer text <p>This is a matter for NHS England, working in partnership with NHS Clinical Commissioners to support clinical commissioning groups to use their prescribing resources effectively in the interests of their local population.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England has launched a public consultation on proposals to update and review commissioning guidance on eight products, which includes blood glucose testing strips for type 2 diabetes and needles for pre-filled and re-useable insulin pens. The consultation runs from 28 November 2018 until 28 February 2019.
