The cleaning figures attached represent the number of occasions where Interserve failed to meet the contracted standard and the representative percentage based on the total number of tasks reported. The level of cleaning performance is generally within contracted tolerances and is monitored on a monthly basis as part of contractual governance procedures. Where failures exceed tolerances, these are assessed and actions taken with the Service Provider to address them. In 2019/20 the UK has committed £65.5 million to UNRWA, matching our 2018 contribution. The UK’s support helps provide education to more than 532,000 children (half of which are girls), health services for around 3.1 million people and social safety net assistance for 255,000 of the most vulnerable. UNRWA’s three year mandate was renewed at the UN General Assembly’s Fourth Committee on 13 December; the UK voted in favour.
more like this

answer text
The UK has had a positive and close diplomatic relationship with Tanzania over many decades, especially in the areas of trade and investment. We are the largest foreign investor in Tanzania in a range of industries including agriculture, energy and hospitality. Tanzania receives a large amount of British Overseas Development Aid, with £152m spent in 2018-19. UK aid has supported efforts to tackle organised crime; improved education access and quality especially for girls; created jobs and trade by investing in infrastructure and agriculture; and shared the expertise of Britain's democratic values and traditions to strengthen Tanzania's judiciary and parliament.

As a close friend and partner, we are honest about the challenges facing British investors, and the progressive erosion of freedom of speech that infringes civil and political rights. In our engagements with the Government of Tanzania, we raise our concerns and urge it to meet its obligations towards democratic governance and due process. We also raise our concerns regarding the business environment which has led to productive dialogue between the British business community and key authorities. Tanzania is a committed member of the Commonwealth and valued partner on climate change.

answer text
The persecution of Christians, and indeed individuals of all faiths or beliefs, remains of profound concern to us. The scale of this persecution prompted the former Foreign Secretary to ask the Bishop of Truro to examine how the British Government could better respond to the plight of persecuted Christians around the world. The Bishop of Truro published a hard-hitting report with 22 ambitious recommendations. We have accepted the recommendations in full and work is ongoing to implement them in a way that will bring real improvements in the lives of those persecuted because of their faith or belief, Mr Rehman Chishti MP. This work is being overseen by the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief.
more like this
