answer text
The UK works closely with the National Unity Government, civil society and the international community to promote the development of human rights in Afghanistan. This continues to be a priority for the UK. We regularly raise human rights issues with the Government of Afghanistan, including the need to protect the rights of all ethnic and religious groups in line with the constitution. The UK condemns in the strongest possible terms the targeting of innocent people based on their beliefs. I publicly condemned the 1 July attack on a group of Sikhs and Hindus in Jalalabad as “a despicable attack on Afghanistan’s historic Sikh and Hindu community”.
more like this

We remained in close contact with Spanish authorities throughout this ordeal, including the Regional Government Crisis Centre. We updated FCO Travel Advice for Spain on the morning of 10 October, highlighting the localised impact of the flooding, directing British nationals in affected areas to follow advice from local authorities and publicising our contact details for any other affected British nationals in need of consular assistance. As always, this update was shared through our established social media channels.
more like this

answer text
The UK has engaged extensively with the parties and international partners in support of the joint declaration between the Presidents of Eritrea and Ethiopia. This has included discussion at the UN Security Council, which issued a press statement on 10 July, welcoming the commitment by both parties to resume diplomatic ties and open a new chapter of cooperation and partnership.

The Foreign Secretary has written to Ethiopian Foreign Minister Workneh and expressed, inter alia, our support for the normalisation of relations between Ethiopia and Eritrea. He welcomed the positive implications for the stability and prosperity of those countries. Foreign and Commonwealth Office Ministers have discussed the issue with international counterparts and, earlier in August, the Secretaries of State for Defence and International Development discussed the potential for practical UK support during their respective visits to the region; I will follow this up when I visit Addis Ababa later this year.

At a high level, it will include working with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's overseas network and international partners to achieve a step-change in our diplomatic efforts to defend the right to FoRB and proactively working for change in selected countries. answer text
I am concerned by levels of violence against human rights defenders and community leaders, which includes some religious leaders. We believe religious leaders have been targeted for their role as community leaders, and not primarily because of their faith. Colombia is designated a Human Rights Priority Country by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Our concerns about human rights were published in the FCO’s annual human rights report on 16 July which can be viewed on the .Gov website. I have discussed the situation of human rights in Colombia with visiting Ministers and with the Colombian Ambassador. The UK also raised concerns about violence against human rights defenders and conflict related sexual violence during Colombia’s Universal Periodic Review at Geneva in May.
more like this
