To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to reports published in The Times and The Yorkshire Post that facilities at the Royal Academy of Policing in Bahrain have been used for the torture of political prisoners, whether they have had any discussions with the University of Huddersfield about its provision of an MSc in Security Science exclusively to students at that Academy.

<p>The British Government consistently and unreservedly condemns torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment and it is a priority for us to combat it wherever and whenever it occurs.</p><p>We urge all allegations of this nature to be reported to the appropriate national oversight body whose duty it is to carry out full, independent investigations into these allegations and we continue to encourage the oversight bodies to carry out swift and thorough investigations into any such claims.</p>
