answer text
The UK remains concerned about the impact Nord Stream 2 will have on European energy security and on the interests of Ukraine. We continue to be supportive of initiatives that strengthen and diversify the supply of gas and competition across the European market. We engage regularly with our close allies and partners on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and European energy security more broadly.

There are currently no unilateral UK sanctions being imposed with respect to Nord Stream 2. During the transition period, the UK will continue to be bound by the EU sanctions regime.
more like this

answer text
We have significant concerns about the Nordstream 2 pipeline. It is not necessary to meet future European demand for gas and could harm European energy security and the interests of Ukraine. For this reason, I regularly raise our concerns in discussions with key partners, including in the EU. I recently discussed this important issue with my Danish counterpart and will continue to raise it in such conversations.
more like this

answer text
Russia will remain a major supplier of gas to Europe, whether or not Nord Stream 2 is built. However, the pipeline is controversial as it would give Russia greater dominance over the European energy market. We take seriously concerns raised by Ukraine and others. European energy issues are regularly discussed with partners, both in multilateral fora, such as the European Council, and in other bilateral dialogues. All new infrastructure developments should comply with EU internal market and competition rules and should not negatively impact security of supply. The EU's overall relations with Russia are determined by the Five Guiding Principles, as agreed in March 2016 and reconfirmed by Foreign Ministers at April's Foreign Affairs Council.
more like this
