star this property answer text
While we have not discussed this specific plan with the Israeli Government recently, we regularly raise our concerns about illegal settlement activity. As I made clear in my earlier response in October last year, the previous Foreign Secretary issued a statement expressing concern about the approval of 31 construction permits in Hebron for the first time in 15 years. The Government’s position on settlements is clear. They are illegal under international law, present an obstacle to peace, and threaten the physical viability of a two-state solution.
more like this

star this property answer text
On 20 October the Foreign Secretary issued a statement condemning advancement by the Israeli authorities for 2,900 settlement units across the West Bank. We are gravely concerned by the approval of settlement construction permits in Hebron for the first time in 15 years. The British Embassy in Tel Aviv raised the issue with the Israeli authorities on 17 October. Settlements are illegal under international law and undermine both the physical viability of the two-state solution and perceptions of Israel’s commitment to it.
more like this

The previous Foreign Secretary issued a statement expressing concern about the construction permits issued for 31 settlement units in Hebron, for the first time in 15 years.
