Since 1967, the UK has regarded Israel as in occupation of East Jerusalem. We believe that the status of Jerusalem should be determined as part of a negotiated settlement between the Israelis and Palestinians. It must ensure Jerusalem is a shared capital of the Israeli and Palestinian states, with access and religious rights of both peoples respected.
more like this

We are calling for a negotiated political settlement to end the conflict and create the conditions for refugees to return.

During my visit to Iraq in January I raised the importance of voluntary returns of refugees and internationally displaced persons with representatives from the Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government. To help enable these returns, the UK has committed over £47 million to directly improve conditions in areas liberated from Daesh in Iraq, including an additional £6.9 million which I announced during my visit.
more like this

Helping to bring stability to Libya is a vital part of UK efforts to tackle the threat from terrorism and the challenge of irregular migration. That is why the UK is at the forefront of efforts to support the UN Special Representative, Ghassan Salamé in reaching out to all sides in Libya to revitalise the political process and work to amend the Libyan Political Agreement so that it delivers for all Libyans. A secure and stable Libya, better able to deal with the threat from terrorism and the challenge of migration, is firmly in the UK interest.
more like this

This threatens regional security and prolongs the devastating conflict. The British Government is providing £1.3 million in funding for the UN Inspection and Verification Mechanism (UNVIM) to counter weapons flows into Yemen. We also aim to increase UNVIM capacity through the deployment of additional inspectors to UNVIM's Djibouti Headquarters and to ports around the region. This could increase UNVIM's inspection capacity fivefold.
more like this
