However, we believe that more than 4,000 people were killed last year by Boko Haram, primarily in north-east Nigeria, but also in terrorist attacks throughout the country. The United Nations estimates that more than 1.5 million people have been displaced by Boko Haram’s terrorist activities.</p><p>As reflected in Travel Advice, terrorist groups in Nigeria, including Boko Haram, continue to pose a significant threat to British nationals and British interests in parts of the country. We believe that the terrorist group Ansaru are responsible for the murder of at least nine foreign hostages, including two British nationals in separate incidents in Nigeria in 2012 and in 2013. These cases have occurred throughout the world in the past five years. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/06/2015 answer text <p>The UK and other EU Member States have agreed to establish a military Common Security and Defence Policy operation to disrupt trafficking and smuggling networks in the Mediterranean, which will include migrant flows from Libya.</p><p>To stop the flows across the Mediterranean in the first place, we are engaging with source and transit countries to address the causes why migrants leave their home countries.</p><p>The UK is a member of the Core Group of the Khartoum Process, which will be important in developing collaboration between EU and source/transit countries. The initial focus will be on developing concrete actions to combat people smuggling and trafficking on the Horn of Africa/East Africa migratory route.</p><p>We are also working to bring order and stability in Libya to make it a more and more difficult operating environment for smugglers and traffickers. We consider this the most effective approach.</p><p>The Minister of State, my noble Friend the right hon. Baroness Anelay of St Johns met the All Party Parliamentary Group for International Freedom of Religion or Belief on 17 June to set out the UK’s commitment to uphold globally freedom of religion or belief. On 18 June she met the US Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom, Rabbi David Saperstein, to discuss upcoming joint action. Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) officials attended the inaugural meeting of an International Contact Group on Freedom of Religion or Belief to discuss how we can better work together internationally. However, due to the complex nature of certain items of correspondence, it is not always possible to meet this deadline.</p><p>FCO Ministers responded to around 81 per cent of correspondence from parliamentarians between 1 January and 30 September 2015 within 20 working days.
