Political and human rights activists are facing increasing constraints and the UK has publicly called on the Russian Government to comply with all its international commitments on human rights, including those in the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).</p><p>The fundamental rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly are enshrined in the Russian constitution.
