answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/03/2018 answer text <p>The Prime Minister reaffirmed her commitments to the Northern Ireland and Ireland border in her speech at Mansion House, recognising the unique circumstances in Northern Ireland, and our shared commitments to avoiding a hard border.</p><p> </p><p>The Joint Report also made clear that it is our intention to avoid a hard border and any physical infrastructure or related checks and controls between Northern Ireland and Ireland through our overall UK-EU relationship. If this does not prove possible, we will then propose specific solutions to address the unique circumstances of the island of Ireland. In the absence of agreed solutions, the UK will maintain full alignment with those rules of the internal market and the customs union which, now or in the future, support North-South co-operation, the all-island economy and the protection of the 1998 [Belfast] Agreement. We have always been clear that we will not agree anything that threatens the constitutional or economic integrity of the UK.</p><p> </p><p>We have pledged to translate all of the commitments made in the Joint Report we published with the EU Commission in December into a legally binding Withdrawal Agreement. This includes all of those on Northern Ireland and Ireland. question text	To ask Her Majesty's Government what is the timetable for the certification of professional qualifications to be agreed through mutual recognition under the Brexit negotiations for doctors, lawyers, architects and other professions.

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/03/2018 answer text <p>As the Prime Minister set out in her Mansion House speech, the UK is committed to a continued system for the mutual recognition of professional qualifications as part of a bold and ambitious future economic partnership.</p><p> </p><p>In December, the UK Government agreed in the Joint Report with the EU the continued recognition of qualifications for frontier workers and residents, where recognition decisions were received or where recognition procedures were ongoing, before the withdrawal date. This will include qualifications recognised under the MRPQ Directive (Directive 2005/36/EC), as well as lawyers practising under host title and approved statutory auditors, which are currently covered separately in EU legislation.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is firmly committed to the agreement in December and we are working with the Commission to agree how they should be translated into legal form in the Withdrawal Agreement.
