answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/07/2017 answer text <p>As set out in the policy paper “Safeguarding the position of EU citizens in the UK and UK nationals in the EU”, family members of eligible EU citizens resident in the UK before we leave the EU will also be able to apply for settled status after five years provided they meet the criteria.
