	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/11/2018 answer text <p>As the Prime Minister has made clear, we are committed to securing a deal that works for the whole of the United Kingdom including Welsh-speaking communities. The UK Government has been working closely and effectively with the Welsh Government, the Secretary of State for Wales and Welsh stakeholders on EU Exit to ensure this.</p><p>This includes, for example, the Joint Ministerial Committee on EU Negotiations and the Ministerial Forum on EU Negotiations. The Ministerial Forum recently discussed the UK Government’s proposals for continued cooperation with the EU on culture and education as well as options for continued participation in successor schemes to EU funding programmes, such as Creative Europe, which I understand has played a role in supporting a number of Welsh language projects. We should not forget what it took to achieve that. The government has set aside £5m to celebrate this important milestone in our democracy. Events are being planned across government to honour the extraordinary sacrifices made by the many suffragettes and the landmark changes they brought about.</p><p><strong><br></strong>The Department for Exiting the European Union’s staff networks are planning a number of events and activities to mark the centenary. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/02/2019 answer text <p>The UK pushed hard in negotiations to include the right to stand and vote in local elections for UK nationals living in the EU, and EU citizens in the UK, but they will not be included in the Withdrawal Agreement as the Commission said it was out of scope.</p><p>The Government has made clear that we will pursue bilateral arrangements with individual Member States. Ministers have written to all member states to offer bilateral agreements on local voting rights.</p><p>We have now reached an agreement with Spain that will secure the rights of UK nationals living in Spain, and Spanish citizens living in the UK, to stand and vote in local elections. That is why we have proposed reciprocal mobility arrangements with the EU that support businesses to provide services and move their talented people. We also want to discuss how to facilitate the temporary mobility of self-employed professionals and employees providing services.</p><p>The Political Declaration agreed between the UK and the EU negotiating parties specifically acknowledges the importance of mobility for cultural cooperation. The detail of our reciprocal mobility arrangements will be discussed in the next phase of negotiations. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/02/2019 answer text <p>The Secretary of State meets regularly with EU counterparts to discuss issues related to our exit.</p><p>The Political Declaration makes clear that both the EU and the UK will aim to provide visa-free travel for short-term visits as part of our future relationship.</p><p>The European Commission proposed to grant UK nationals visa-free travel to the EU, even in the event of a no deal, subject to reciprocity from the UK. This proposal is currently passing through the EU’s legislative process. This would mean that UK nationals would not need a visa when travelling to the Schengen area for short stays of up to 90 days in every 180-day period.
