unstar this property answer text <p>In December 2017, we reached a fair and reciprocal agreement with the EU on the rights of EU citizens in the UK and UK nationals in the EU, as set out in the draft legal text of the Withdrawal Agreement.</p><p>The agreement confirms that any UK national resident in the EU by December 2020 will be able to stay and continue living their lives broadly as they do now in their current Member State of residence. This agreement provides UK nationals living in the EU more certainty about residence, healthcare, pensions and other benefits. We are currently implementing this agreement in the UK through the EU Settlement Scheme and are working with Member States to understand how they will do the same.</p><p>Should a UK national decide to return to the UK, details on access to services such as healthcare and social security in the UK can be found on gov.uk.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>From the very beginning the Prime Minister has been clear that safeguarding the rights of UK nationals living in the EU, and EU citizens living in the UK, was her first priority for negotiations.</p><p> </p><p>The agreement reached and set out in the Withdrawal Agreement text will provide them with certainty about their rights going forward.</p><p> </p><p>This will mean that all UK nationals resident in the EU by December 2020 will be able to continue living their lives broadly as they do now in their country of residence.</p><p> </p><p>It will be for each Member State to determine how they will confirm the rights of UK nationals under the Withdrawal Agreement. We are seeking details of how each EU Member State will implement the Withdrawal Agreement for UK nationals.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Since the referendum, the Government has been reaching out to UK nationals in the EU at meetings, events and through digital channels. Our embassies and Ambassadors have engaged extensively with UK nationals in their host countries and since January 2018, almost 10,000 UK nationals have attended over 40 face to face outreach events. Digital outreach has reached thousands more.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>A wide range of questions were asked at this particular event in Paris. These related to the agreement on Citizens’ Rights and other matters related to our exit from the European Union.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The agreement on Citizens’ Rights, as set out in the Withdrawal Agreement text, provides certainty on the rights of UK nationals currently living in the EU.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The agreement we have reached on citizens’ rights will mean that all UK nationals resident in the EU before the end of the implementation period will be able to continue living their lives broadly as now. All UK nationals resident in the European Union by 31 December 2020 will fall under the Citizens’ Rights part of the Withdrawal Agreement.</p><p> </p><p>A smooth and orderly UK exit from the EU is in the interest of all Member States.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>We are working to understand what systems, processes and infrastructure Member States will be putting in place ahead of the UK’s EU exit.</p><p> </p> more like this

This page is regularly updated and provides the latest information and guidance on how the UK’s exit from the EU might impact on UK nationals living in the EU. The page also includes detail of the citizens’ rights agreement, which will provide UK nationals with more certainty about residence, healthcare, pensions and other benefits.<br><br></p><p>The Government is also using other communication channels to engage with UK nationals in the EU, reaching out to UK nationals at meetings, events and online. Ministers from the Department for Exiting the European Union have met delegates from groups representing UK nationals in the EU, to hear their concerns. Embassies and Ambassadors have also engaged extensively with their communities in country.</p><p> </p> more like this
