	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/09/2019 answer text <p>Forestry is a devolved matter and these figures apply to England only.</p><p> </p><p>The Government remains committed to planting 11 million trees this parliament, and to the shared aspiration of reaching 12% woodland cover in England by 2060.</p><p> </p><p>We have amended our main grant schemes to make applications easier by streamlining the application processes, opening the Countryside Stewardship Woodland Creation window all year round and reducing the threshold of applications from 30 hectares to 10 hectares for Woodland Carbon Fund applications. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2022 answer text <p>Great Britain's plant health regime is risk-based, and the history of compliance of specific trades (where the trade is the combination of a specific commodity from a specific origin) is a significant factor in determining biosecurity risk. Defra has recently consulted on a revised system of import inspection frequencies, to reflect better the level of biosecurity risk associated with particular categories of commodities. Taking account of views expressed by stakeholders, new arrangements will be implemented from July 2022 and will be kept under review to determine any future changes required.</p><p>While the biosecurity risk of imported goods is largely trade based, there are areas where trader considerations may also play a role. Defra are currently exploring future options in relation to the Target Operating Model, including the possibility of trusted trader arrangements for plant health imports. This assessment is undertaken every six years, with the latest assessment published in 2019. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/01/2021 answer text <p>The impacts of all fishing activities are taken into account when we assess the status of UK seas and set targets to achieve Good Environmental Status (GES) under the UK Marine Strategy. Our last assessment, carried out in 2019 under Part One of the Strategy, showed that commercial fishing is one of the predominant pressures preventing GES of UK seas, in particular some seabed habitats, from being achieved. To help address this we committed to assessing the feasibility of setting up a partnership working group with key stakeholders to identify solutions for potential fishing impacts on seabed integrity.</p><p>Work is also currently underway to update Part Three of the Strategy, which sets out the programmes and measures we are taking in our waters to help us move towards or maintain GES. Included as part of these measures will be the new Fisheries Act which now allows UK Authorities to manage fishing activity in our waters and will help to achieve the UK's vision of a clean, healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse ocean and seas. The Government is also satisfied that the resultant peer-reviewed Defra-commissioned research carried out between 2007 and 2010 (AW1402 and AW1402a) was robust and showed that the devices compromise the welfare of some dogs. Data from the research was published separately in two different reputable scientific journals, which required additional independent peer review exercises involving scrutiny from experts in the same field prior to publication.
