star this property answer text <p>We recently consulted on how to apportion additional quota between the UK administrations. We also consulted on how we allocate England’s share. We will publish the Government’s response and our English allocation policy after annual negotiations conclude. It is for the devolved administrations to decide how to allocate their share.</p><p> </p><p>We have been clear since the 2018 White Paper that we would allocate our existing quota using the current method.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p><strong> </strong></p><p>In recent years, we have bolstered local authorities’ powers to tackle litter and fly-tipping. We have increased and introduced new penalties for littering and fly-tipping and given councils the power to stop and seize vehicles of suspected fly-tippers. We also continue to campaign to raise awareness of the impacts of littering to support behaviour change and we are providing funding of just under a million pounds to help 44 local authorities purchase new litter bins.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The consultation on the National Action Plan for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides outlines how the Government will support the development of nature-based solutions, low toxicity methods, and biopesticides, in line with the principles of Integrated Pest Management.</p><p> </p><p>In partnership with the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, Defra is funding field trials for Integrated Pest Management in oilseed rape.</p><p> </p><p>Defra also supports research on the genetic improvement of rapeseed to increase resilience to pests.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We are requiring water companies to deliver their largest ever infrastructure investment worth £56 billion over 25 years. South West Water are now required to undertake improvements to storm overflows in your constituency for example by increasing capacity of storm storage. I have also asked every water and sewerage company in the country to provide an action plan for every storm overflow, including South West Water.</p><p> </p><p>We are driving increases in monitoring across the country with coverage increasing from 7% in 2010 under Labour to around 90% today, and 100% by the end of this year.</p> more like this

Farmers will be able to apply for grants to help them invest in equipment and technology and boost their productivity under the Farming Investment Fund.</p><p> </p><p>The Farm Resilience scheme will provide help for the first three years of the agricultural transition period to manage their businesses through the transition. star this property answer text <p>This Government sees nature-based solutions playing an increasing role in our effort to reduce flood risk, alongside traditional flood defences, in our £5.2 billion capital flood defence programme as well as through the £200 million innovation programme. These will run for the next six years. The Government has committed to publish a new tobacco control plan for England later this year, to deliver its ambition of a smoke-free country by 2030. We have also recently announced our intention to explore regulatory options to ensure that the tobacco industry takes sufficient financial responsibility for the toxic litter created by its products.</p> more like this
