Both the 25 Year Environment Plan and the National Action Plan emphasise the importance of Integrated Pest Management. A draft report has been prepared and is in the final stages of internal review prior to submission and publication. However, the NBU and Defra officials have regular contact with commercial beekeepers. These bee farmers have not raised queen inbreeding as an area of concern. Most beekeeping operations do allow wild mating so queens cross-breeding with drones from other local colonies does occur naturally. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/12/2018 answer text <p>In line with other UK Government Departments, Defra currently does not plan to pay the Settled Status Fee for its non-UK EU citizen employees. The fee is set at an affordable rate (£65), less than the cost of a UK passport.</p><p> </p><p>It is not possible to estimate the cost of paying the settled status fee for non-UK EU nationals employed directly by the Department as nationality was not collected until October 2012 as part of pre-employment checks. The Department does not therefore hold this information for a proportion of permanent staff employed by the Department.</p><p> </p><p>Outsourced workers are not employees of the Department and therefore this would be a decision for their employers.</p><p> </p><p>We value the significant contribution made by EU citizens working in the Civil Service and we want these colleagues to continue to play a full role in the work of the Civil Service. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/12/2018 answer text <p>The government will be introducing the Invasive Alien Species (Enforcement and Permitting) Order to implement the EU Invasive Alien Species (IAS) Regulation (EU1143/2014). Our enforcement strategy has been designed to combat the negative effects of invasive non-native species that are listed as ‘of union concern’. Both grey squirrel (<em>Sciurus carolinensis)</em> and muskrat (<em>Ondatra zibethicus)</em> are on this list.</p><p> </p><p>The enforcement strategy will prohibit a number of actions relating to listed species, including their importation, keeping, and release into the environment. These restrictions are being put in place to manage the risk that these species pose to the environment, economy and human health.</p><p> </p><p>The Forestry Commission leads on policy and action on the grey squirrel in England, under the Grey Squirrel Action Plan, which fulfils many of the functions of a management plan. This includes Countryside Stewardship funding for landowners. Defra, in partnership with the United Kingdom Squirrel Alliance (UKSA), is also providing funding for work by the Animal and Plant Health Agency for the development of a fertility control method for grey squirrels. This research, now in its third year, continues to show promise as one potentially effective method to control grey squirrel numbers in the longer term.</p><p> </p><p>The muskrat is not currently present in this country meaning we have no plans to develop a management plan. All of these staff members were in Corporate Services teams including finance, human resources and communications. IT, commercial, estates, facilities management and shared services staff transferred on 1 November 2017 as part of the Defra Group Corporate Services transformation.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Corporate Services enable the Defra group to operate by providing critical IT systems, HR and finance support, property management, legal advice, and procurement and communications services. Historically, teams have been fragmented across the Defra group, with each delivery body running their own corporate services, working to different policies, processes and systems. Having recognised the cost of complexity from this way of working, we have integrated functional teams across the group in order to drive out inefficiency and improve support to the business. Through this approach we are on track to deliver £124m of savings over the Spending Review 2015 period.
