To summarise, the instrument only contains simple and technical changes to pieces of domestic fisheries legislation to ensure they operate correctly after EU withdrawal.</p><p> </p><p>This means that it:</p><p> </p><p>(a) Does not make changes to policy;</p><p> </p><p>(b) Will not lead to a change in operational delivery;</p><p> </p><p>(c) Will not impose any additional costs (as there are no changes to what businesses, individuals or the public sector will have to do under the regulations);</p><p> </p><p>(d) Makes minor technical corrections to the Sea Fish (Conservation) Act 1967, the Fisheries Act 1981 and the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, in order to give effect to EU measures forming part of the CFP; and</p><p> </p><p>(e) Will not result in any additional environmental impacts.</p><p> </p><p>This statutory instrument will be required on EU withdrawal, but if there is an implementation period we expect to defer, revoke or amend the SI in time for the end of that period.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Camborne and Redruth answering member printed George Eustice question first answered 31/01/2019 11:42:47 answering member 3934 label Biography information for George Eustice

Both the 25 Year Environment Plan and the National Action Plan emphasise the importance of Integrated Pest Management. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/02/2019 answer text <p>The Government published the Resources and Waste Strategy for England in December last year which sets out our plans to reduce plastic pollution and to move towards a more circular economy. This builds on the commitment in the 25 Year Environment Plan to eliminate all avoidable plastic waste.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We have already made good progress, banning microbeads in rinse-off personal care products and removing 15.6 billion plastic bags from circulation with our 5p charge.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We have consulted on banning plastic straws, stirrers and cotton buds and are currently consulting on extending the carrier bag charge. We will shortly consult on reforming existing packaging waste regulation, introducing a deposit return scheme for drinks containers and increasing consistency in the recycling system. Legislative proposals will be developed taking account of the consultation responses.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government is also committed, subject to consultation, to introducing a tax on plastic packaging containing less than 30% recycled context. We will continue to review the latest evidence on problematic products and materials to take a systematic approach to reducing the use of unnecessary single-use plastic products.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>A number of Departments, including Defra, have already taken steps to eliminate single-use consumer plastics from their operations. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/02/2019 answer text <p>The UK does not import pig meat from any countries outside of the European Union (EU) that are affected by African swine fever (ASF).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Countries that export pig meat to the UK do so in accordance with safeguard measures which ensure their exports carry a negligible risk of infection. Of those countries within the EU that export pig meat to the UK, only Poland and Romania have experienced outbreaks of ASF in their domestic pig herds in the last six months.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Measures to control and eradicate ASF are put in place immediately by any EU Member States where outbreaks are found. These measures include the establishment of restriction zones around infected premises and restrictions on the movement of pigs, pig products and anything likely to spread disease.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Wider regionalisation measures restrict the movement and trade of pigs and pig products from affected regions of EU Member States dependent on their risk status. This will include creating or maintaining habitats for birds such as the skylark, which has faced rapid population decline in the past few decades. In December 2017, the Government published the Draft Animal Welfare (Sentencing and Recognition of Sentience) Bill and ran a public consultation on the draft Bill. The House of Commons' Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) Select Committee also undertook pre-legislative scrutiny of the draft Bill and Defra responded to EFRA’s report in March 2018.
