This year, the Seasonal Workers Pilot has been expanded for 2021 to 30,000 visas. Growers can also recruit workers with status under the EU Settlement Scheme. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/11/2021 answer text <p>We are seeking agreement from the European Commission on awarding Great Britain ‘Part 1’ listed status and recognition of the UK’s tapeworm-free status. Achieving these would alleviate the most onerous pet travel rules for all travellers and we see no valid animal health reason for these to not be granted. We have one of the most rigorous pet checking regimes in Europe to protect our biosecurity and have submitted a detailed technical case setting this out and are continuing to engage with the EU on a workable solution.</p><p> </p><p>Animal Health Certificates (AHCs) fees are set by veterinary practices and are a private matter between individual practices and their clients and neither the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, the UK regulator of the veterinary profession, nor Defra intervenes in the level of fees that are charged.</p><p> </p><p>We are engaging with the British Veterinary Association to address concerns on veterinary capacity to complete and issue AHCs. We are working to ensure that the process of issuing pet travel documentation is as efficient as possible.</p><p> </p><p>The AHC format is mandated by the EU, but the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) has taken steps to help Official Veterinarians (OVs) complete them including the development of a model certificate and accompanying printable guidance. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/11/2021 answer text <p>Through the Environment Act, the Government will make statutory the requirement for sewerage undertakers to develop and publish a drainage and sewerage management plan (DWMP) to fully assess their network capacity, short- and long-term infrastructure needs and impact of their activities on the environment. This Act also contains a power of direction for the Government to direct water companies in relation to DWMP actions if they are not ambitious enough to meet our expectations and we will not hesitate to use this power if needed.</p><p>Earlier this year the Government consulted on a set of strategic priorities for the water industry, which included steps to &quot;significantly reduce sewage discharges from storm overflows&quot;. The water industry is committed to invest £3.1 billion on improvements between 2020 and 2025 to reduce reliance on storm overflows, including projects to improve capacity as part of a £51bn investment programme across the period, including £7bn of investment in the environment. Since privatisation, water companies in England have delivered £160bn of investment, including £30 billion invested in the environment. This is equivalent to around £5 billion of investment annually and has delivered a range of benefits to customers and the environment.</p><p>We have also started a review of the case for implementing Schedule 3 to the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 in England. Schedule 3 was designed to set ministerial standards for the construction of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) on new developments. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/11/2021 answer text <p>The Government's 25 Year Environment Plan sets out our ambition to eliminate all avoidable plastic waste by the end of 2042. The Resources and Waste Strategy, published December 2018, sets out how we want to achieve this and move towards a circular economy where resources are kept in the system for as long as possible.</p><p> </p><p>In October 2020, we introduced measures to restrict the supply of single-use plastic straws, drink stirrers and cotton buds. The single-use carrier bag charge, which has led to a 95% reduction in the use of single-use carrier bags by the main supermarkets, has also been increased to 10p and extended to all retailers. We will be consulting later this year on banning a range of single-use plastic items, including single-use plastic plates, cutlery, and polystyrene cups. We will continue to review the latest evidence on problematic products and materials to take a systematic approach to reducing the use of unnecessary single-use plastic.</p><p> </p><p>Our Environment Bill will enable us to change significantly the way that we manage our waste and take forward a number of proposals from the Resources and Waste Strategy, which will reduce consumption of single-use plastic further. The Bill includes key powers to create Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes; introduce Deposit Return Schemes (DRS); and establish greater consistency in the recycling system. Furthermore, from April 2022, plastic packaging that does not contain at least 30% recycled content will be subject to a tax of £200/tonne.
