When correspondence to the Department is sent in via DECC’s official channels, it is processed by DECC’s central Correspondence Unit.</p><p>The DECC Correspondence Unit conducts regular reviews of its correspondence handling processes (including logging of all correspondence) as part of its ongoing work on continuous improvement, with weekly opportunities for feedback from staff. The Department’s standard terms and conditions include a cancellation clause which provides for termination upon giving the supplier 28 days’ notice. All of the right regulations are in place to ensure on-site safety, prevent water contamination, air pollution and mitigate seismic activity.</p><p>In June 2012 the Royal Society and Royal Academy of Engineering published an independent review of the scientific and engineering evidence on risks associated with UK shale gas development. Their report concluded that environmental (and health and safety) risks can be managed effectively in the UK, when operational best practices are implemented and enforced through regulation.</p><p>In June 2014, Public Health England published a report that evaluated available evidence on issues including air quality, radon gas, naturally occurring radioactive materials, water contamination and waste water. The specific strike price for onshore wind on the islands aims to bridge the funding gap identified as being a barrier to deployment. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/11/2014 answer text <p>The UK is committed to meeting our obligation to increasing the use of renewable energy by 2020, and we are on track to meet the 2013/14 interim target of 5.4% of final energy consumption from renewables. Renewable heat has a key role to play in meeting the overall target of 15% by 2020, however it does not have a specific sub-target.</p><p>The Impact Assessment of the Renewable Heat Incentive scheme published in December 20131 suggests that plans for the Renewable Heat Incentive could deliver between 29-59 TWh by 2020/21 (including a baseline of 15TWh) with a central range of 41-47TWh.</p><p>Such deployment would cost between £1.3 – 2.4 billion (in 2014 prices) annually from by 2020/21, with an average annual expenditure of £0.8 - 1.4billion (in 2014 prices) over the period 2016/17 to 2020/21.
