answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/09/2017 answer text <p>As announced by the Secretary of State for Education on 17 July, we will invest £100 million from the Soft Drinks Industry Levy in 2018-19 for healthy pupils’ capital. The funding will improve school facilities to support a range of healthy pupils’ activities, including PE and sports, after school activities and healthy eating. We are investing in a breakfast club programme as announced in the Childhood Obesity Plan in August 2016. This committed £10 million a year of the Soft Drinks Industry Levy to expand breakfast club provision in up to 1,600 schools. The proportion of compulsory school age pupils claiming benefit related free school meals is 14%. The new School Food Standards came into force from January 2015 and have been widely welcomed.</p><p>The standards apply to local authority maintained schools, academies that opened prior to 2010 and academies and free schools entering into a funding agreement from June 2014. We encourage those founded between those dates to use the standards as a guide and sign up voluntarily to show they are following them. Further information and guidance will be available later this year.</p><p>They work closely with their counterparts from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) across a number of programmes to ensure that all pupils have the opportunity to lead healthy, active lives. Within the ‘Subject time series tables: SFR03/2017’ document, the tab ‘Subject time series’ lists the student entries for each year. The ‘Subject grouping composition’ tab lists the subjects that are required to calculate the total entries. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/09/2017 answer text <p>The Government believes all pupils should have a high quality, well rounded education and that arts subjects are central to this.</p><p>The new National Curriculum, introduced in 2014, sets out the essential knowledge in the key subjects that schools should teach. In Key Stages 1 to 3, music and art and design are statutory subjects for maintained schools. At Key Stage 4, all pupils in maintained schools must be offered the opportunity to study at least one subject in the arts ‘entitlement’ area, which includes art and design, music, dance, drama, and media arts.</p><p>Beyond the curriculum, we are investing £300 million of ring fenced funding in music hubs in 2016-20.
