answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/12/2017 answer text <p>Budget 2016 announced funding for a number of programmes linked to the revenue from the Soft Drinks Industry Levy.</p><p> </p><ul><li>Funding for the Primary PE and Sport Premium has been doubled to £320 million for academic year 2017/18. Funding for the premium is paid in academic years, with 7/12ths of the funding paid in the autumn term and the remaining 5/12ths in the summer term. In financial year 2017-18 £95 million will be provided from the soft drinks industry levy.</li></ul><p> </p><ul><li>We published an invitation to tender on the 16 October 2017 indicating that we are investing £26 million from the levy over the next three years to expand breakfast club provision. The expectation is that £1 million funding will be provided in 2017-18 to the breakfast club programme.</li></ul><p> </p><ul><li>We announced in February 2017 the healthy pupils’ capital programme will build on the government’s plans for schools to provide a longer school day by changing the focus of the scheme to provide new facilities or improve existing ones to make it easier for a range of extra-curricular activities to be provided. In total, they had 43,785 pupils.</p><p>We do not have information on the proportion of children who have access to a maintained nursery school. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/12/2017 answer text <p>The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. The statutory framework is published at:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2</a>.</p><p>The welfare and safeguarding section in the EYFS requires childcare settings to comply with requirements of health and safety legislation, including fire safety requirements. Providers must take reasonable steps to ensure the safety of children, staff and others on the premises in the case of fire or any other emergency, and must have an emergency evacuation procedure. Providers must have appropriate fire detection and control equipment (for example, fire alarms, smoke detectors, fire blankets and/or fire extinguishers) which is in working order. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/12/2017 answer text <p><em>The ‘Schools that work for everyone’</em> consultation document, available in the House Library, recognised that some faiths, including the Catholic Church, have felt unable to open new schools, subject to the 50% cap, through the free schools’ route because they say it contravenes religious rules.</p><p> </p><p>Ministers and officials meet regularly and have discussions with a range of partners and stakeholders including representatives of the Catholic Church, such as the Catholic Education Service, and non-religious interest groups such as the British Humanist Association and National Secular Society. A range of issues, including the impact of the 50% cap on admissions, are regularly discussed in the context of general discussions. The department plans to respond on this in due course. This means funding per pupil for schools and high needs will be maintained in real terms for the next two years.</p><p> </p><p>Alongside our substantial investment, we are committed to helping schools maximise efficiencies. As part of this support and where appropriate, we will provide efficiency experts to schools. This additional support will be focused on providing practical advice to maximise efficiencies. These experts will start working with schools in early 2018 as part of our initial pilot.
