answer text <p>The department does not provide funding to local councils, schools or academies for electively home-educated children. It remains the case that when parents choose to home educate their children they assume financial responsibility.</p><p> </p><p>The department continues to recommend that local councils should take a flexible approach to support for home educating parents where appropriate.
